We go through all of our all-state info one more time and choose a Most Inspirational Player of the Year, highlight some of the state’s best freshmen and provide a great example of a top recruit vs. a top high school player on the same team and why sometimes there’s no choice but to pick the one with the best high school stats higher. Also featured: Rocklin’s Evan Michalet, Chino Hills’ Grant Trueman and sophomore LBs from Jack Del Rio’s high school.

Even if Tristan Leonetti wasn’t a Type 1 diabetic, what he’s done on the football field and in the classroom at Scotts Valley High in Santa Cruz County would be impressive.

But because he did it under more difficult circumstances than normal, Leonetti is our Cal-Hi Sports Most Inspirational Player in the state for the 2015 season.
