Football Team To Watch
Tracy

While technically the playoffs don’t start for a couple of weeks it has become like the postseason for last season’s CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I runner-up since the Bulldogs will likely need to win their final two games of the regular season to earn a trip to the postseason. The Tracy offense is led by sophomore quarterback Jacob Alvarado and senior running back C.J. Hawkins, who has rushed for 756 yards and eight touchdowns. It won’t be an easy task. First, the Bulldogs will go on the road this week in the Record’s Game of the Week and take on a Lincoln of Stockton team that has won three straight games, all by six points or less, before hosting West of Tracy next week. Last week, Tracy had a two-game winning streak come to an end with a 35-14 loss to St. Mary’s of Stockton and will be looking to repeat last season that saw the team follow up a loss to the Rams with wins over the Trojans and Wolfpack on the way to a deep postseason run. Three of Tracy’s four losses this season have come against teams, including Clayton Valley of Concord, currently with a combined record of 19-4.
