Week 7 State Top 25 Scoreboard

Here is a look at scores through Saturday night, Oct. 12. The new Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area Top 25 will be posted on Sunday night. The new Cal-Hi Sports State Top 25 will be posted in list form only on Monday morning. 1. De La Salle (Concord) 6-0
Did not play. The Spartans will meet James Logan of Union City next Friday in their next game.

2. St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 6-0
Defeated No. 25 Santa Margarita (Rancho SM) 56-12. Josh Rosen ran for four TDs and led big-time offensive showing. Santa Margarita is a team that should have beaten Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas on the same field it just got blitzkreiged by the Braves.

3. Folsom 6-0
Defeated No. 22 Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 35-0. Jake Browning with four touchdown passes but four interceptions. Folsom’s defense getting a shutout of Oak Ridge is what really stands out.

4. Serra (Gardena) 6-0
Defeated Harvard-Westlake (North Hollywood) 63-7. Some of Serra’s backups were the team’s stat leaders. Showdown with Chaminade is next week.

5. Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 6-0
Defeated No. 8 Servite (Anaheim) 28-21. The Monarchs were ahead 28-7 and held on. Coach Bruce Rollinson was honored before the game for being in that role for 25 years.

6. Mission Viejo 6-0
Did not play. Diablos will play San Clemente next week.

7. Serra (San Mateo) 4-1
Defeated Sacred Heart Cathedral (San Francisco) 50-3. That’s four in a row since 21-14 loss to De La Salle.

8. Servite (Anaheim) 3-3
Lost to No. 5 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 28-21. Will Friars stay in the top 10 even at 3-3? Probably not, but they still won’t drop too far, either.

9. Long Beach Poly (Long Beach) 6-1
Defeated Jordan (Long Beach) 31-0. Keep in mind the Jackrabbits have a head-to-head loss to Servite and will have to stay behind the Friars in the next rankings.

10. Hart (Newhall) 6-0
Defeated West Ranch (Valencia) 35-24. It’s a bit closer than one might expect, but Indians still will stay in front of Chaminade due to head-to-head win and Chaminade keeps pushing them higher.

11. Chaminade (West Hills) 5-1
Defeated Cathedral (Los Angeles) 48-7. It was no trouble for the Eagles against team that was 5-0. They get Serra next.

12. Elk Grove 6-0
Defeated Laguna Creek (Elk Grove) 46-6. Wadus Parker rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

13. Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove) 6-0
Defeated Sheldon (Sacramento) 63-21. The easy games for the Eagles, however, are going to end very soon.

14. Rancho Cucamonga 6-0
Defeated Etiwanda 37-18. Solid win for Inland Empire’s No. 1 team.

15. Granite Bay 5-1
Defeated Roseville 40-28. With Oak Ridge losing 35-0 to Folsom, Granite Bay’s 30-14 loss in its first game is looking better.

16. Mission Hills (San Marcos) 6-0
Defeated Escondido 42-0. The San Diego Section’s No. 1 team throttles another foe with its defense.

17. (17) Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) 5-2
Defeated No. 23 Bishop Amat (La Puente) 31-21. Team’s two losses to Gardena Serra (in OT) and Chaminade (3 points) now get another quality win on the ledger.

18. (20) Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) 6-1
Defeated Agoura (Agoura Hills) 50-7. Brandon Dawkins and company were wrapped up by halftime.

19. (11) Bellarmine (San Jose) 4-1
Defeated St. Francis (Mountain View) 21-14. Huge interception return TD in first half kept the Bells in it, then they ramped up their play in the second half.

20. (8) Alemany (Mission Hills) 4-2
Lost to Loyola (Los Angeles) 31-20. Cubs take down the Warriors with RB Nico Evans rushing for 238 yards and three TDs.

21. Centennial (Corona) 4-2
Defeated Norco 43-25. After Norco’s win over Alemany and now with a win over Norco, it’ll be okay to rank the Huskies next week back in front of the team they lost to.

22. Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 5-1
Lost to No. 3 Folsom 35-0. Last year, the Trojans lost big to Folsom but came back to make it all the way to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I final.

23. Bishop Amat (La Puente) 4-2
Lost to No. 17 Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) 31-21. With Santa Margarita (which is the best team the Lancers have beaten) also losing the way it did to St. John Bosco, it’ll be hard to keep them in the next Top 25.

24. Edison (Fresno) 6-0
Defeated Sanger 25-7. Central Section’s No. 1 team should move up a few spots in the next rankings.

25. Santa Margarita (Rancho SM) 3-3
Lost to No. 2 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 56-12. Early miscues led to early 14-0 deficit.
