FB: Serra Padres show some stuff

Serra Rolls Despite Slow Start

I had to see it for myself.

Word around the Bay Area was Serra (San Mateo) and its De La Salle alumnus head coach Patrick Walsh reportedly had its best team since Walsh took the helm 13 years ago.

Hearing about it is one thing, but seeing it is another, and Walsh and his boys made believers out of me. The Padres showed why they had De La Salle on the ropes before letting it slip away in the waning moments.

That wasn’t the case on Thursday night at Chabot College in Hayward against Atwater Buhach Colony. Although Notre Dame-bound lineman Matt Dickerson is still out, and starting quarterback Matthew Fa’aita went down in the first series with a shoulder injury, Serra (2-1) overcame a scoreless first 14:08 and a 7-0 first quarter deficit to post an impressive 48-15 victory.

The bottom line is Serra is loaded with size and speed at the skill positions and on defense. Serrs also has a ton of underclass players that could possibly play somewhere at the next level.

Kava Cassidy, a fleet, 6-0, 170-pound junior running back that runs likes he’s 25-pounds heavier, only had six carries for 24 yards in the first half, but exploded in the third quarter and finished with 14 carries for 135 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a 39-yard TD pass from replacement quarterback Anthony Smock (9-of-19, 155 yards two TDs). The senior was a little shaky at times, but Smock made some clutch plays when Serra was turning the tide in the second quarter. A sophomore that impressed was wide receiver Brandon Monroe. He only had three catches, but for 119 yards. His 68-yard touchdown reception on 4th-and-1 in which he changed direction three times, gave Serra a 21-7 lead with 3:03 left in the first half, and pretty much sealed the deal.

“It was good to see us stay confident in each other and not panic,” remarked Walsh about not only falling behind but losing his starting quarterback early on. “With that said, we cant repeat that mistake and must learn from it before we face Bellarmine.

The West Catholic Athletic League opener with Bellarmine (San Jose) is next Friday at San Jose City College.

    4) “Every time you stay out late; every time you sleep in; every time you miss a workout; every time you don’t give 100%… you make it that much easier for me to beat you. A good tip for getting started is to train your largest muscle groups first before focusing on specific areas you want to tone or shape. It had become more and more evident by the 1920s and1930s that health and the development of the body were connected very closely (Schwarzenegger 11).

It’s true that getting a repair done can be pricey and can throw your monthly
budget into cardiac arrest. At the end of that phase, the timer or relay
contacts are opened and the dryer continues to run without
heat. Inside the refrigerator there are a few
things that can cause it to prevent proper cooling.

Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing
months of hard work due to no back up. Do you
have any solutions to protect against hackers?
