Even though these weekly honors are specific for offense, defense and special teams, it’s often hard not to consider what players have done in all facets of the game. You can say at least four of our six this week fall into that category. We also have a QB who was part of the highest […]
Although the CIF Southern Section has already released its basketball honors, we’re just getting started. This will be the 39th year for the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Teams in girls basketball. The process begins by posting a list of nominees from every CIF section in the state. It’s an honor in and of itself, but the […]
As part of our continuing effort to maintain state records in girls basketball, we have to compile a list of single game highs toward the end of each season. We’ll did the same for boys on Saturday. The 35th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams package for baseball also includes 30 players named second team overall plus 50 more who are third team. The third team, however, is only for seniors and only for large schools.
Alyssa Palomino of Mission Viejo gets to 53 homers for softball career to tie the state record. Among others in this honor roll are Cole Acosta of Santa Fe Christian and Easton Lucas from Grace Brethren of Simi Valley for baseball and Anissa Lopez from University Prep of Victorville for softball.
Only one is named from each region for offense, defense and special teams and we’re going to do our best to spread it around as much as possible. This week’s honors go to Corona, Redlands, Solana Beach, Hayward, Stockton and Emeryville.
