Softball State Rankings By Divisions

Santiago of Corona loses in Tuesday game to M.L. King, which gives bumps to Esperanza, Vintage and James Logan. No. 1 teams are Pacifica of Garden Grove, Mission Viejo, Bishop Amat, Francis Parker and Redwood Christian.

California of San Ramon surges up to No. 17 as state’s lone newcomer this week. Unbeaten Archbishop Mitty also gets a bump into the top five. The rest of the top group, however, is dominated by Orange County.

Amador Valley is a little light on offense, but doesn’t give up a run in winning the Queen of the Mountain tournament to remain the state’s top-ranked team. Highest-rising newcomers this week are California of San Ramon and Los Osos of Rancho Cucamonga.

Preseason Softball State Top 20

Pacifica of Garden Grove leads the pack with not one not two but three pitchers headed to major colleges. Defending State Team of the Year Norco, however, may have the best offensive lineup. A new coach, meanwhile, will lead top-ranked preseason team in Northern California.
