What We Learned: DLS-St. Francis

At least on this night, not having an effective passing game shows that the Spartans still have a way to go to get close to the CIF Open Division championship level of St. John Bosco and Bosco’s league rivals from Mater Dei. DLS pointing toward playoffs

A 45-17 victory over Monte Vista of Danville (which was 9-0) shows that underclass-oriented Spartans are beginning to hit their stride as regular season ends. To win 26th straight North Coast Section title, however, it will have to be in new Open Division, which will leave out one team that won’t be happy when it’s […]

It’s still been since 1991 that a Bay Area team or one in the state north of Fresno has been able to beat De La Salle of Concord. The Spartans won again Friday, but Antioch falling by just 28-21 gives hope for the Panthers in a possible playoff rematch and others.

State Super 55: No. 21 to No. 30

The mighty 1927 state champs from Bakersfield and two teams from two years ago, De La Salle and Folsom, are featured in this group but now the Spartans and Bulldogs are a bit higher. De La Salle’s No. 1 team from last season also is now No. 28. Others include Pico Rivera El Rancho 1966...

After LB Poly rout, how good is DLS?

In dominating a team that has a win over L.A. City powerhouse Narbonne of Harbor City, No. 1 De La Salle shows the gap between itself and the rest of the state (other than two teams) probably is as wide as its ever been.
