FB Recruiting: Where 2nd Team All-Staters Are Headed

As a companion post to where this year’s first team overall Cal-Hi Sports football players will play in college, here is a look at the 30-player second team overall selections. No one will be surprised if a couple of the receivers (who couldn’t all be squeezed onto first team) end up being big-time college performers.

Friday Bowls: Devilish Diablos

Mission Viejo takes CIF Division IAA crown with 24-0 victory over Bellarmine of San Jose while Del Oro of Loomis wins the CIF D2AA title by downing Camarillo 16-6. Diablos end 16-0 while the Golden Eagles prevented the Scorpions from doing the same.

Sad Weekend State Top 25 Scoreboard

After collecting the results of these teams, it begs the question of what’s better in first-round section playoff games: playing and slaughtering a mismatched opponent or just taking a bye. The only ranked team to play and lose was No. 23 Chaminade, but its loss was to No. 2 Corona Centennial.
