With less than a week before the 10 CIF section commissioners will meet to choose the teams in this year’s CIF regional bowl games plus the two teams that will play in the Open Division on Dec. 20 at the StubHub Center in Carson, here are the possible choices that may take the longest time:
It will be Bakersfield vs. Del Oro of Loomis next week in a very intriguing CIF Division I state bowl game after both won on Friday night. The Division IV winners, meanwhile, are Central Catholic of Modesto and Bakersfield Christian.
De La Salle will play Folsom at Diablo Valley College on Saturday in NorCal Open Division rematch of last year. In the South, meanwhile, it will be Corona Centennial taking a crack at St. John Bosco at Cerritos College.
It looks like the weather will clear for tantalizing games at Sacramento State, Lincoln of Stockton and Oroville. We think all five games have a rather obvious favorite.
