We had not yet picked the sensational Eric Melesio of Riverside Norte Vista and we’ll do that now for SoCal and go over his record-breaking 563-yard rushing outing from last Friday. Others honored for this week are from Antelope, Stockton, Oakland, Huntington Beach and San Marcos.
Instead of trying to choose between two QBs who passed for nine TDs, we found a great alternative in the south with La Jolla Country Day’s Braxton Burmeister. In the north, Taft’s Robert Cozine and his team rushes into the record books during high-scoring victory against Exeter.
Explosive returns help all three of our honorees from SoCal, including defensive pick Mozes Mooney of La Jolla Bishop’s. In the north, junior QB Tyree Bracy of Milpitas introduces himself to the state scene with five TD passes against Antioch.
One of this week’s honorees is going into the state record book in two different categories and we believe could be the first in state history to do what he did. We also have a no-hit pitcher from one of the toughest baseball leagues in the nation plus one girl who is part of a […]
For the final set of honorees for basketball, 7-foot-1 center Roman Silva from Diamond Ranch of Pomona leads the way. His comeback from a scary car crash, however, tells more about him than just his stats. This week’s other three honorees are from Imperial, Hayward and the Sacramento area.
In the last set of honorees for football before this feature switches to boys and girls basketball next week, three of them are from teams ranked in the top five of the state rankings while another is from a team that has 10 straight shutout wins. The complete group is from Mission Viejo, Bellflower, San […]
Yeah, we do try to avoid picking the big-time recruits for these honors in favor of those that might more need the love, but just couldn’t resist a salute to what Oaks Christian’s Michael Pittman Jr. did in his final prep performance. Others gaining honors are from Hayward, Loomis, Galt, Redondo Beach and San Diego.
It wasn’t a huge outing but we salute Sacramento High QB Caden Voges for becoming just the sixth in state history to reach 10,000 passing yards for career. Others collecting this honor this week are from Newman, Moraga, Gardena, San Clemente and Anaheim.
Congrats to all of those listed below who were selected as a Cal-Hi Sports Northern California or Southern California Player of the Week and thanks to all who contributed photos and info during the 2014-15 school year.
One of this week’s choices is a senior from San Diego who is coached by a former MLB pitcher with a perfect game. Our other three honorees are from San Mateo, San Pedro and Merced.
