Boys BB: Divisional All-State 2025

Career 3,000-point scorer Jake Hall of Carlsbad (left) gains all-state Open/D1 first team honors for the second time, but this year he’s joined among that group by San Diego Montgomery’s J.J. Sanchez. At right, NaVorro Bowman of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, who is only one of two sophomores on all-state Open/D1, is shown matching up with State Player of the Year Brayden Burries. With the all-state teams out last weekend for juniors, sophomores and freshmen, the next set of teams for the 46th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state boys basketball teams are to honor the top players according to the same divisions in which this year’s CIF state championships were contested. Of course, it’s very difficult to determine which division for some players (thanks to competitive equity seedings for playoffs), but we have all-state teams by divisions going back to the 1980s and remain committed to providing them.

Note: We hope you enjoy this free post on CalHiSports.com. Updated class-by-class player rankings by managing editor Ronnie Flores for Gold Club members will be completed at the end of the school year. The all-state underclass teams are for Gold Club members only as well. Please check out becoming a member today so you don’t miss any of our exclusive statewide content. D5/D6 STATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

*Note: The division placement of schools (and players from those schools for all-state) is based on the same divisions that teams were placed for the CIF regional playoffs. Section playoff placement also was used for teams that were not in the regionals. We also looked at each team and the team it lost to in the playoffs and followed the line of teams to CIF regionals. In some cases, it also was an estimation of which divisions those teams would be in. Sorry, but we cannot go through every nominated player and determine a separate divisional placement based on traditional factors such as enrollment. More than one third of the players already have to have divisional placement figured out even going by the CIF regional divisions.

Special thanks to Ronnie Flores for contributions to these teams.
