The playoffs are in full swing around the state and section champions will be crowned this weekend. For the fifth consecutive season, the CIF Southern Section Open Division title game will feature a matchup of the top two ranked teams in the state. The last time that game didn’t was in 2018-19 when Salesian of Richmond was No. 1 in the state and it has a shot to be No. 1 again despite sitting at No. 6 this week. The big winners of the week are new No. 4 Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks and new No. 11 Windward of Los Angeles, which will meet in the CIF Southern Section D1 final.
