State Stat Stars of the Week

Sophomore Mathis Dritz of Westlake (left) had a scoring blitz in game last week vs Buena. At right is freshman Gene Roebuck of La Mirada, who didn’t let playing against St. John Bosco or Long Beach Poly prevent him from 30-point outings. This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. More than lists and numbers, we can provide historical context since we’ve maintained state records in California for more than 40 years. For girls hoops this week, Danae Banuelos from Golden West of Visalia scores 1,000th point and Mathis Dritz from Westlake of Westlake Village has a huge game against against perennial power Buena of Ventura. For boys hoops, state scoring leaders from Blair of Pasadena and St. Joseph Academy of San Marcos square off and Anto Balian of L.A. Pilibos enjoys 50-point outing.
