State Stat Stars of the Week

Junior WR Dillon Gresham of San Jacinto (left) has now caught 23 TD passes, which will go onto the all-time single-season state list. At right is QB Eddie Brusuelas of Capital Christian (Sacramento), the ringleader behind a team that came back from 1-5 start to make its section semifinals. This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. Orange County players Anders Lundsberg (passing) and Troy Leigber (scoring) take over the reported state leads, but Lundsberg almost for sure will be passed this week. Leigber’s team is still playing. We also salute a QB who led a team that was 1-5 to start the season to a playoff win over a team that was 9-1. Plus, we have players with 345 yards rushing, 238 receiving and one with a 95-yard pick six.
