NEW Sac-Joaquin Section Top 5 List

Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five quarterbacks this fall in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, according to CalHiSports.com.

This is the sixth season that CalHiSports.com and FOX 40 have partnered together to have these SJS Top 5 lists as part of the station’s weekly high school football highlights show. Tune in on Fridays at 10:30 for the Game of the Week, top four plays and more. The top 5 list from last week’s show is later revealed on our site. For the top 5 list for this week, it will be the top five running backs. Check out the show to see those names revealed.

5. Nicolas Coronado (Kimball, Tracy)
He already has more than 4,000 yards passing and 45 TDs in career and he had 491 yards and seven TDs in one game last spring. Nick led Kimball to a win last week vs. Tracy.

4. Kenyon Nelson (Lincoln, Stockton)
Only a junior, he’s one of the most exciting players you will ever see scrambling out of the pocket and he has D1 offers. He unfortunately was scrambling on just about every play and had snaps from his center sailing out his head in last week’s loss to Edison.

3. Beau Green (Turlock)
He has made some transfer moves, but is an elite athlete and student with an offer from Yale.

2. Anthony Garcia (Capital Christian)
The son of Grant legend Aaron Garcia has been one of state’s most improved QBs over the past year.

1. Tyler Tremain (Folsom)
It’s hard to beat this latest Bulldog QB since he was the only QB in the state last spring who passed for more than 2,000 yards in the short season.

Thanks to Jim and the FOX 40 team for letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.
