All-State Softball Nominees (Part 2)

Two of the state (and nation’s) top freshmen in 2019 season were Caity Newburn of Napa and Megan Grant from Aragon of San Mateo. Newburn, a catcher, batted .649 with 11 homers. Grant, who’s only been playing softball for a short time after playing baseball, had 13 homers and led Aragon to CCS D1 title. Both girls have committed to UCLA. Here is an updated, second list of nominees who are going to be considered for one or more of the 37th annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Softball Teams. Thanks to everyone who sent in a nomination for their favorite player (either already on the first list or just added to this second one). Nominations are not closed, but we will have limited access to the site during a long-planned vacation that starts this week. Still, the goal is not to miss anyone from anywhere in the state who should be in the mix. The first of our all-state softball teams will be released near the July 4th holiday.

Note: This list is compiled so that coaches, parents and readers can submit additions, corrections and make comments about which players should be selected when all information is received. Nominations are always welcome. Some players listed may have switched schools from last year or were injured and didn’t play this season because one of our first moves is to transfer players listed as nominees from last season. This second list and additional all-state softball content will be for Gold Club members only. Join our team today by CLICKING HERE.
