NEW Softball State Top 20

Players and coaches from Los Alamitos were happy with second-place finish behind state and national No. 1 Norco at Dave Kops TOC. Photo: @LosAl_Softball / Twitter.com.

First regular season look at California’s best for softball of course has Norco at the top, but it’s probably going to surprise some folks about the pecking we have that follows. We do see national rankings put out by MaxPreps and USA Today, but often do not agree with those rankings and don’t think we should when we have far more years of California softball ranking experience in comparison. We do tend to agree with local rankings we see, but Huntington Beach in the No. 2 slot doesn’t. We figure the Oilers and league rival Los Alamitos are going to duke it out twice in the Sunset League anyway.
