Boys BB: Saturday State Finals

Sierra Canyon’s three leading seniors — Scotty Pippen, KJ Martin and Cassius Stanley — will leave the school as back-to-back CIF Open Division state champions and as part of one of the most talented starting lineups of any team in California history. Photo: Mark Tennis.

In a spectacular display of rim-rattling dunks and jaw-dropping talent, Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth cruises past Sheldon of Sacramento to win its second straight CIF Open Division state championship. The Trailblazers also joined the girls for the first-ever Open Division title sweep since the CIF went to the Open Division in 2013. We also have recaps and photos of Campolindo of Moraga’s first CIF state title (which came in Division II) plus Ribet Academy of Los Angeles getting the Division IV state crown after winning just one game last season.
