NEW Baseball State Top 20

Entering this week, pitcher Joey Magrisi of state No. 9 Torrey Pines is sitting between David Wells and Cole Hamels in the CIF San Diego Section record book for consecutive scoreless innings pitched. His team also moved up five spots. Photo: Twitter.com.

Bizarro world situations continue to emerge for this year’s rankings as Bellarmine of San Jose (which has six league losses) wins the Boras Classic state championship while a San Mateo Serra team that is the round-robin co-champion of that same league drops a pair of non-league games. It’s still calm at the top, however, as Harvard-Westlake, Eastlake, Huntington Beach and Arcadia had no problems last week.
