NEW Baseball State Top 20

According to our own state record lists, Capistrano Valley’s Bob Zamora is one of just 12 coaches in state history to have more than 700 career wins. His team this year is leading in a tough league and this week has cracked the State Top 20. Photo: CapoAthletics.com.

Huntington Beach wins 21st game in last 22 outings and goes up to No. 1 in the state following loss by previous No. 1 Valley Christian of San Jose. The Warriors, however, only drop one spot due to other teams losing and their own 6-3 win on Saturday against state-ranked Archbishop Mitty. This week’s rankings also see three newcomers, although two of them (Mira Costa & San Mateo Serra) have been ranked this high earlier in the season.
