NEW Softball State Top 20

We didn’t think there would be much movement in this week’s rankings, but then a funny thing happened to Mater Dei of Santa Ana heading into its showdown on Friday in the Trinity League with No. 2 Orange Lutheran. The Monarchs lost. They were No. 8 and had to give up some spots after that loss. Unbeaten Freedom of Oakland now joins the top 10. We also have three newcomers this week, led by Benicia after its big win over previous No. 17 Sheldon of Sacramento.
