7. (7) Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) 10-0

8. (8) De La Salle (Concord) 9-1
In every one of the Spartans’ 24 straight NCS title seasons, the quest has begun with a blowout. This year, it’ll begin with an expected close game against 9-1 Clayton Valley of Concord.
9. (10) Freedom (Oakley) 10-0
It’s always tough to beat a great team twice, something the Falcons hope they don’t learn about when then play 9-1 Pittsburg in NCS Open Division.
10. (11) Murrieta Valley (Murrieta) 9-2
Owning a win over Oaks Christian doesn’t mean as much for the Nighthawks as it did last week. Having one over Vista Murrieta, on the other hand, means more.
