He was second in the NFL in rushing last season and has been All-Pro twice.

2. Trumaine Johnson (Edison, Stockton)
He was among NFL leaders last year with seven interceptions and was given franchise tag by the Rams over the summer.

3. Brandin Cooks (Lincoln, Stockton)
He had 84 catches last season for the Saints and may get to 100 this year.

4. C.J. Anderson (Bethel, Vallejo)
Starting running back for Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.

5. Julius Thomas (Tokay, Lodi)
He was one of the top tight ends in the league in the second half of last season for Jacksonville.

Watch this week’s show Friday at 11 p.m. for all the local highlights, plus the next Top 5 from CalHiSports.com, which will be the top five quarterbacks this season from the Sac-Joaquin Section. The show will include highlights from all of the biggest games in the region, including the Fan Favorite game of the week between Highlands (North Highlands) and Lindhurst (Olivehurst). Thanks to host Jim Crandell and the FOX 40 team for once again letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.
