Sac-Joaquin Section Top 5 QBs

Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five quarterbacks this season in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, according to CalHiSports.com.

Here is what that countdown revealed:

1. Ian Book (Oak Ridge, El Dorado Hills) 6-1, 195, Sr.
Three-year starter recently switched college commitment from Washington State to Notre Dame.

2. Caden Voges (Sacramento) 6-1, 165, Sr.
He has thrown for 4,000 yards in back-to-back seasons but might be even better as a catcher in baseball.

3. Hunter Petlansky (Central Catholic, Modesto) 6-3, 225, Sr.
A leader on teams that won CIF Division IV state titles the last two seasons.

4. Montel Aaron (Antelope) 6-4, 190, Sr.
He’s got offers from a lot of mid-major colleges like Nevada & San Jose State.

5. Jake Jeffrey (Folsom) 6-0, 175, Sr.
Just a hunch, but given what Folsom QBs do the team’s new starter may rise on a lot of these lists as the season unfolds.

Tune into this week’s show Friday at 11 p.m. for all the local highlights plus the next Top 5 from CalHiSports.com, which will be a list of the top five runningbacks in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section. The show will include highlights from all of the biggest games in the region. Thanks to Jim and the FOX 40 team for once again letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.

You might have a Folsom Bulldog on most of these lists! When u do LB you have the top 2 at Folsom for sure. Torres and Neal tops in section and top 5 in state. I really like your coverage and these lists, keep up the good work!

We will base the LB list the same as others and tackle stats are not the most important. Those with D1 commitments and D1 offers that have played well are going to be ranked higher.
