Modesto Christian is now firmly in the mix for NorCal Open Division after win last week over Vanden. We also add three top San Diego Section teams into Division V. That’s where they’ll go for regional playoffs if they get into San Diego Open Division and don’t win title.

Note: This is our second look at girls basketball teams around the state as it relates to the CIF state championships. This is the third year of the Open Division, which will be conducted with north and south brackets and then the winners meeting in the final at the University of California’s Haas Pavilion on Saturday, March 28.

As we have done in the past, we are ranking the teams according to the divisions they would be in before they are moved up into the state/regional open division. The win-loss records are mostly from games played through this Wednesday, Feb. 11 with a few updated from results this week and may not match the overall State Top 20 from earlier this week.
