1. ST. JOHN BOSCO (BELLFLOWER) 3-1
The Braves lost to Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) 34-31 in a hyped matchup on ESPN. They trailed 34-10 before a huge late rally that nearly had them get the ball back with a chance to take the lead but they were unable to recover an outside kick. Their fight to come back and lose by just three on the road will help their chances of remaining as the No. 1 team in the state in our new state rankings on Monday. With the loss, Bosco also had a 19-game win streak snapped, which was second longest in the state. For recap, CLICK HERE.

2. DE LA SALLE (CONCORD) 5-0
The Spartans surged in the second half to beat No. 4 Servite of Anaheim 47-24 on their home field. For recap, CLICK HERE.

3. MATER DEI (SANTA ANA) 4-0
Outscoring Edison of Huntington Beach 17-6 in both halves, the Monarchs remained undefeated with a 34-12 win. Limiting the Chargers’ offense to minimal first downs, the Monarch defense also forced three turnovers in the second half.

4. SERVITE (ANAHEIM) 3-2
A 47-24 loss to No. 2 De La Salle was added to the Friars’ grid log on Saturday to go with 47-28 loss from the first game to Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas. For all we know, those are the two top teams in the nation so Servite can still have a very special season. For recap, CLICK HERE.

5. FOLSOM 5-0
Cal-Hi Sports head honcho Mark Tennis was there to see the Bulldogs defeat Granite Bay 63-0 before he will go see the No. 1 team in Northern California (De La Salle) tomorrow and see how those two teams would compare since they will not get to face off this season. Jake Browning passed for 345 yards and five touchdowns with four of those going to Josiah Deguara. For recap, CLICK HERE.

6. ALEMANY (MISSION HILLS) 4-0
Did not play. With a bye this week, the Warriors will be back in action next Thursday night when they host No. 7 Chaminade of West Hills in next week’s top major statewide showdown.

7. CHAMINADE (MISSION HILLS) 5-0
Opening up Mission League play, the Eagles pulled away in the second half for a 24-7 win over No. 23 Loyola of Los Angeles on homecoming night. Okalani Langi rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown while T.J. Pledger rushed for 77 yards and a score. For more on where Chaminade now ranks on state’s current win streak list, CLICK HERE.

8. CENTENNIAL (CORONA) 2-2
Did not play. The Huskies will be in one of a few Thursday games next week as they will go on the road to the Santa Clarita Valley to take on Valencia.

9. OCEANSIDE 5-0
It was a score that caught our eye early in the night as the Pirates trailed 10-0 against Rancho Buena Vista of Vista before scoring the game’s final 42 points for the 42-10 win. Josh Bernard rushed for three touchdowns in the first half before watching most of the second half from the sidelines.

10. SERRA (GARDENA) 4-1
In a game that came down to the final play of the night, the Cavaliers defeated No. 22 Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks 28-23. According to our good friend Evan Barnes (@evan_b), Serra’s Khalil Tate had 157 yards passing while also rushing for 41 yards and accounting for three total touchdowns.

11. JSERRA (SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO) 5-0
Edward Vander rushed for 231 yards and six touchdowns on 16 carries as the Lions finished their non-league portion of the schedule with a 52-0 win over St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs.

12. LONG BEACH POLY (LONG BEACH) 4-1
Bouncing back from their first loss of the season, the Jackrabbits rolled to a 49-0 win over Cabrillo of Long Beach to open up Moore League action. Josh Love completed 13 of his 20 pass attempts for 260 yards and six touchdowns in the first half while the defense recorded safeties on two straight possessions.

13. MISSION HILLS (SAN MARCOS) 4-1
As expected, the Grizzlies had little trouble in picking up their fourth win of the season as they defeated Escondido 38-7. Martrel Holmes caught two touchdown passes from Dakota Miller, including their final touchdown of the night.

14. LUTHERAN (ORANGE) 4-1
Patrick Reardon rushed for three touchdowns as the Lancers went on the road and defeated Vista Murrieta of Murrieta 37-3. The margin of victory at Vista Murrieta was a bit surprising but just shows how good the Trinity League teams are this season.

15. GRANT (SACRAMENTO) 4-0
Donovan Brown had four touchdown passes, with three of them of going to Ariyon Huff, as the Pacers pulled away from Franklin of Elk Grove for a 43-14 win. We will be there next Friday when Grant plays at state-ranked Elk Grove.

16. WESTLAKE (WESTLAKE VILLAGE) 3-1
Looking like a team anxious to get back on the field after a loss and a bye week, the Warriors opened up a 34-7 lead at halftime thanks to three touchdown passes by Malik Henry in the 2nd quarter in a 41-14 win over Dominguez of Compton.

17. SANTA MARGARITA (RANCHO SM) 4-1
Scoring on offense, defense and special teams, the Eagles as expected had little trouble in picking up a win over Venice of Los Angeles. The game ended with a running clock and a final score of 42-0. Rick Wade had 14 tackles, an interception and returned a fumble for a touchdown.

18. EDISON (FRESNO) 4-0
Did not play. The CIF Central Section’s top-ranked team had a bye this week and will face Clovis West of Fresno next Friday night.

19. ELK GROVE 4-0
Starting Delta Valley Conference play with a 56-13 win over Davis, the Thundering Herd used a 28-point second quarter to open up a comfortable 35-7 lead at halftime. They host Grant of Sacramento next Friday.

20. BAKERSFIELD 3-1
The Drillers’ offense was slowed some in the opening half (they were up just 14-6) but they ramped it up in the second half of a 49-6 win over Salesian of Los Angeles.

21. FOOTHILL (PLEASANTON) 4-0
Kyle Kearns had two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter as the Falcons opened up East Bay Athletic League play with a 40-28 win over San Ramon Valley of Danville. It was their first win over the Wolves since 2008.

22. NOTRE DAME (SHERMAN OAKS) 3-1
Cole Klayman passed for 228 yards and one touchdown while Leo Lambert rushed for 97 yards and a score but it wasn’t enough to knock off No. 10 Serra of Gardena as the Knights came up short by a 28-23 final score against the Cavaliers.

23. LOYOLA (LOS ANGELES) 4-1
Having to go on the road and face No. 7 Chaminade of Mission Hills on its homecoming night turned into the Cubs’ first loss of the year as they scored just one touchdown during a 24-7 loss.

24. CHINO HILLS 3-1
Did not play. With the weekend off, the Huskies will next take the field next Friday for their final non-league game against Victor Valley of Victorville.
