All of the Cal-Hi Sports state record updates in the football team categories have now been completed and have been added to our site in 12 separate posts. These lists are updated through the 2013 season and include hundreds of listings, some back to the 1890s. Go inside for a closer look and how you can check it all out.

WINNING STREAKS

Concord De La Salle’s 40-game streak that ended in last season’s CIF Open Division state bowl game makes the list. This post also includes longest league unbeaten streaks, longest win streaks at home and more.

SEASON SCORING

Corona Centennial may not have gone past the CIF Southern California Open Division bowl game but the Huskies scored 800 points, which is now third on the all-time state list. This post also includes most points scored for regular season, highest scoring average for a season and highest point differential for a season.

SINGLE-GAME SCORING

The newest total in this category is still the 141-0 win by Santa Rosa over St. Helena from 1924. Let’s hope it stays that way for many more years to come. This post also includes most points scored in a half, most points scored in a quarter and most points by a losing team (which has many new listings from 2013).

TEAM DEFENSE

These also tend to be from the old times, such as Los Angeles High with 15 consecutive shutouts from 1898-1899. This post also includes most shutouts in a season, lowest opponent total offense, fewest rushing yards allowed, most pass interceptions for a single game, and more.

OFFENSIVE YARDS

New updates include Norwalk from last season for most yards rushing, Corona Centennial for most yards total offense in a game (twice) and Folsom for most yards passing (game & season). This post also includes most rushing attempts (game) and most rushing yards (game).

Sorry, but Natomas of Sacramento’s current 32-game losing streak is now part of the state record list. This post also includes the school with the most all-time reported losses in state history plus worst record for a season and most points allowed in a season.

DECADE LEADERS

De La Salle of Concord’s 96.5 winning percentage is tops for the 2010s so far but did you know that the Spartans were not the state leader for the 2000s? They were 99.2 percent for the 1990s and 91.0 percent for the 1980s. This post also includes state’s best since the 1960s, 1950s, etc.

ALL-TIME WINS

Bakersfield’s magical 2013 season pushed its all-time number of reported wins to 749 and gave the Drillers more space in front of No. 2 Long Beach Poly on the all-time state list. This post also includes schools with the best all-time records.

CIF TITLES & MORE

Bakersfield’s official total according to the CIF is eight state titles, but we still have it as seven. The Drillers also are still No. 1 for most undefeated seasons, but De La Salle is now just two behind.

BEST SEASONS & HIGHEST SCORES

Corona del Mar of Newport Beach and St. John Bosco of Bellflower both reached 16-0 for the first time in state history last season. So why is Corona del Mar listed first? This post also includes highest score for one team in a game going back every season to 1890.
