Softball: State Top 20 Update

Pacifica slips past Archbishop Mitty for final No. 3 ranking while newcomers will be section champions from Division I in the CIF Central Coast and L.A. City sections.

CIF Southern Section Division I champion Pacifica of Garden Grove, which also went 1-2 in head-to-head matchups with State Team of the Year Mission Viejo, has moved up to No. 3 in the final overall state rankings. Archbishop Mitty of San Jose, which won the CIF Central Coast Section Division II title, couldn’t hold off the Mariners and fell from No. 3 to No. 4.

Here is a look at the list of the first 20 teams in this year’s final state rankings, which will be expanded to 40 teams in depth later this week:
