This will be the weekly post for Gold Club members mixed with opinions, top state stat stars of the week and state record updates. This week, we propose a national Open Division for football, say why Jordan Brown’s move to Prolific Prep hurt more than the usual transfer, add Acalanes QB Robbie Rowell to all-time...
This school’s 2016 team was close to being a CIF state champion and its all-time win total is getting close to 500. And if it weren’t for one bad decade — the 1960s — we might be talking about Fort Bragg as one of the state’s top all-time small-school, small-town teams. Since we’re still getting […]
In support of the Cal-Hi Sports state records, we have taken the time to compile single game highs for the 2015 football season. These are lists that don’t exist anywhere else. Every reported performance in California above 300 yards rushing, six touchdowns scored, above 400 yards passing, six touchdown passes, above 200 yards receiving, four...
In the last two years, a player from the CIF Central Coast Section used that section’s final week of the regular season (which is one week later than the rest of the state) to earn a top spot as a regular season state stat champion. That wasn’t close to happening this season. Two players this […]
Both Ben Purcell from Del Campo of Fair Oaks and Kaylor Sullivan of Fort Bragg barely reach the 500-yard mark in one game. This week also saw several players earn honor roll writeups in some of the wildest scorefests of the season such as San Joaquin Memorial over Madera 69-63 and Stagg of Stockton over […]
Among this week’s best single-game outings is a rare section record tie for rushing yards by Rancho Buena Vista’s Dominic Taylor. Also highlighted are Chatsworth’s Tyger Goslin, Newbury Park’s Cameron Rising (again) and Bryson Bolin of San Marcos. But considering the opposition, of course, the best probably was from Gardena Serra’s Khalil Tate.
Annual regular football feature returns with top reported single-game performances from around the state. This week’s best includes “The Dude” from Citrus Hill, two of the top sophomores in the nation and more than 600 yards of offense from Whitney of Rocklin’s Hunter Rodrigues.
Presented by ATHLETETRAX, this week’s best includes two running backs from annual statfest that seems to happen every time Tulare and Porterville get together. Sacramento’s Caden Voges also makes the state record book with eight TD passes while congrats also are in order to Caruthers head coach Tom Casanova for earning 200th career win.
This week’s top single-game performances include one from Fort Bragg that could definitely invite some bragging. How about eight touchdown passes in one half? Presented by our new partners from ATHLETETRAX, others highlighted include Sac High duo of Caden Voges and Kyron Basped, Buena Park’s Zach Taylor and San Jose Bellarmine’s Curt Calomeni.
