NorCal CIF Boys Divisional Finals

Winners on the day at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento are Berkeley and Serra of San Mateo. Winners at American Canyon High near Napa are Manteca, Palma of Salinas and St. Joseph Notre Dame of Alameda. Recaps by Mark Tennis & Paul Muyskens.

State Coach of the Year: Chuck Rapp

Serra of San Mateo coach’s team won CIF Central Coast Section Open Division title and knocked off favored Moreau Catholic in NorCal Open Division. Rapp has been one of the most highly respected boys hoops coaches in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years.


Friday Section Final Breakdowns

Two players get to the line with less than one second left in both the CCS Open Division and NCS D1 boys title games with vastly different results. Sacred Heart Cathedral girls also cap off wild-and-wacky ride to CCS Open Division crown.
