All four of our picks this week played starring roles for teams from Sacramento, Auburn, Palmdale and Chino that wrapped up league championships. One also has a brother playing big-time college football while another is averaging 22.5 points per game.
State Stat Stars of the Week
Matthew Reese from Providence of Orland (with 56-point game) and Spencer Mattox of unbeaten National City Sweetwater (who had 44) tops the honor roll among boys. For the girls, watch out for Baylee Vanderdoes from Placer of Auburn, younger sister of UCLA gridder Eddie Vanderdoes.
