It could be a No. 1 vs No. 2 showdown at the Michelle Carew Classic this weekend as St. Francis of Mountain View is stepping up to play some of the top teams in Southern California. We’ll have on-site coverage from longtime associate editor Harold Abend. The big news in this week’s rankings are the changes caused by previous No. 5 Heritage of Brentwood getting toppled at the Reed tourney in Reno by new No. 22 Sutter. That result also helped unbeaten Elk Grove jump up to No. 7. Other newcomers are Huntington Beach and Vanden of Fairfield.
