The recruiting saga of Hughson’s Robert McDaniel (Cal, San Jose St, Arizona, UCLA, back to San Jose St) and the finish of Mission Viejo’s Dijon Lee as the consensus No. 1 player recruit in the state is just part of a final look at the departing Class of 2025 for California high school football. We are beginning to ramp up items for the 2025 football season in California, which will be the 48th that we’ve covered since 1979. We will have an updated look at the Class of 2026 Hot 100 football prospects, but begin with a final compilation for the just graduated Class of 2025. It ended up being a fairly unanimous ranking of Mission Viejo’s Dijon Lee as the top prospect. Quarterbacks Robert McDaniel of Hughson and Tristan Ti’a of Amador Valley would be the highest newcomers compared to last summer’s Hot 100 lists.
Note: We also have player rankings for boys basketball that were done in late May and will have updates for the Class of 2026 in football and a first list for the Class of 2027 in the next two weeks. All player ranking charts (past and present since 2013) are for Gold Club members only. This is a great time to sign up and you can get all of our content for just $4.99 for one month.
