The super-loaded CIF Southern Section D1 playoffs start on Thursday with very intriguing matchups in the very first round. Winning the Michelle Carew Classic didn’t help Rosary of Fullerton to get a high seed, but we do not match computer rankings based section seedings with our own rankings. Teams that are moving up in our rankings, however, are No. 2 seed Etiwanda and No. 4 seed Ayala. The Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, including state No. 1 Del Oro in D1, are beginning on Wednesday.
