All-State Football: First Team

The 36th annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams are headlined by these 30 players, chosen regardless of school size or year in school. Two juniors from CIF Open Division champion De La Salle have made the cut along with two defenders each from Long Beach Poly and Serra of Gardena.

Mr. Football 2014 Finalists

We are going with seven players from around the state who can consider themselves finalists to be the 2014 Mr. Football State Player of the Year. Several are obvious, but a few may not be. We have two quarterbacks, one running back, two receivers and two others who pretty much did everything for their teams.

First CIF state title for REV

It’s another crazy finish as Clayton Valley of Concord is denied go-ahead TD with 4:12 left on a fumble. Redlands East Valley holds on for 34-33 win in CIF Division II state bowl game and earns first CIF state team title in any sport for the school.

Clayton Valley of Concord (15-0) plays Redlands East Valley (14-1) on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the StubHub Center in Carson. REV revs it up vs. Ridgeview

Looking at the 59-42 final score, you wouldn’t have thought it was a defensive battle in Redlands East Valley’s 59-42 triumph over Ridgeview of Bakersfield in the CIF Southern California Division II bowl game played Saturday night at Citrus Valley High.

Preseason All-Inland Empire FB Team

This is the second preseason all-section or all-area football team we have compiled and the first from a significant portion of the CIF Southern Section. Along with Orange County, the Inland Empire has some of the best players in the state period.
