Another new No. 1 in girls hoops
Mater Dei of Santa Ana, the preseason No. 1 team in the state, is back on top of the Cal-Hi Sports State 20 after winning the Nike TOC in Arizona. St. Mary’s of Stockton stays No. 2 after downing previous No. 1 Long Beach Poly. There could be more changes after the post-Christmas holiday tournaments.
Girls BB: Updated State Top 20
Long Beach Poly goes to the top of the heap prior to the Nike TOC and West Coast Jamboree. St. Mary’s of Stockton, meanwhile, moves up a spot to No. 2. There also are seven new teams in this week’s pecking order, led by new No. 11 Alemany of Mission Hills.

Chaminade beats Mater Dei in early showdown and forces us to do an updated version of the Cal-Hi Sports State Top 20 rankings. St. Mary’s of Stockton slips to No. 3 while Mater Dei slides down to No. 2.
