At this point of the season in the who beat who syndrome, getting a win doesn’t always automatically elevate one team over another team it just beat. Competitive equity has to be factored with teams that seem to be headed to the CIF NorCal or SoCal Open Division. We also have to place just as much emphasis on a team’s overall body of work and look ahead at big games coming up in addition to what just happened. Six ranked Southern California teams came north for MLK events and by and large most did very well. In fact, all three newcomers had good showings at the St. Mary’s MLK Showcase in Stockton.
