Sac-Joaquin Section Top 5: QBs

We are happy to announce that for the fifth straight year the CalHiSports.com web site and Cal-Hi Sports will be part of the weekly Final Quarter high school football show on Friday nights on the FOX 40 station in Sacramento.

On last week’s show, we revealed our picks for the Top 5 quarterbacks in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section. Here is what that countdown revealed:

1. Gino Campiotti (Manteca) Sr.
He’s an outstanding three-sport athlete — a rare breed — who had 2,100 yards passing and 24 TDs last season. Should mention that Vacaville Wood’s Carson Strong would have been on this list, but he’s out for season recovering from a knee injury. Strong has verbally committed to Nevada.

2. Marco Baldacchino (Oak Ridge) Sr.
All you need to say is he was Offensive MVP last year in Sierra Foothill League, the best league in the section.

3. Kaiden Bennett (Folsom) Jr.
He backed up Joe Curry last year and should keep the Bulldogs humming.

4. Tyler Dimino (Del Campo) Sr.
He’s from one of the section’s great football families and had 1,700 passing and 19 TDs as a junior.

5. Quincy Glasper (Bear Creek, Stockton) Jr.
He’s moving from Brookside Christian where he had 3,500 yards passing and 45 TDs last year.

Polls also will once again be conducted on the FOX 40 website for the Papa Murphy’s Fan Favorite Game of the Week. The 30-minute show is twice a long as any other Friday night high school football show in the Sacramento market.

Watch this week’s show Friday at 11 p.m. for all the local highlights, plus the next Top 5 from CalHiSports.com, which will be the top five running backs in the SJS. The show will include highlights from all of the biggest games in the region, including the Fan Favorite game of the week. Thanks to host Jim Crandell and the FOX 40 team for once again letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.
