Running back Ronnie Rivers (left) had to go up into the top 100 after huge season at Freedom (Oakley) while running the 100 of a different kind has made many wonder what Vista Murrieta cornerback Javelin Guidry (right) will do in the coming years. Going by consensus of Scout, Rivals, ESPN and 24/7, it’s a tie between Antioch’s Najee Harris and Redlands East Valley’s Jaelen Phillips as to which would be the state’s top college prospect as freshmen heading into the 2017 season. We’ll break the tie since Najee was Mr. Football State Player of the Year as a junior. Go inside for a final look at the top 100 ranked players from the class before we turn even more attention to the upcoming high school season. The Class of 2017 may be one of the best ever since there could be all-time greats at running back, defensive end, offensive line and defensive back.

Note: We also have player rankings in football for the Class of 2018 and Class of 2019 coming up soon as well as more player rankings coming for boys basketball. All player ranking charts are for Gold Club members only. This is a great time to sign up and you can get it for just $9.99 for three months. For details, CLICK HERE.

As the wrap-up of the 2016-17 school year is continuing with another eye looking forward to 2017-18, one part of the wrap-up is to take a final look at this year’s seniors and recent high school graduates who will be playing in major college football games in just a couple of months.

We do this by going through all of the various player rankings from major services like ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 24/7 and then compiling a consensus to come up with a top 100 for the state. We also add in our own player evaluations from games and events that we attended as well as the evaluations done to come up with the annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams.
