(After games of Saturday, Oct. 8)
(Previous ranking in parentheses)

1. (1) Centennial (Corona) 5-1
Tanner McKee returned from a concussion to throw for 243 yards and three TDs and rush for 81 yards and two TDs in 77-20 rout of Eastvale Roosevelt.

2. (2) St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 5-1
The scores involving Servite say it all. Braves won 70-7 last Friday over Friars. De La Salle won 28-27 last month and had to get a two-point conversion at the end.

3. (3) Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 6-0
Beating Santa Margarita badly is one thing, but 56-0 at halftime? That’s just another level that only all-time great teams get to. Two more weeks until MD plays Bosco.

4. (4) Mission Viejo 7-0
After the Diablos blasted Tesoro of Las Flores for their 35th straight win, assistant coach Bret Johnson tweeted: “My Pop’s (Bob Johnson) only lost four league games in 17 years.”

5. (5) Narbonne (Harbor City) 6-0
Gauchos got back to business in routing Gardena 78-0. Still in line to be in CIF D1-AA bowl bracket, but others from CIFSS in D2 and San Diego Open are coming on strong.

6. (10) Rancho Cucamonga 6-0
Strong 47-10 win over Upland combined with previous win over Murrieta Valley jumps the Cougars past even De La Salle.

7. (8) Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) 6-0
Not much doubt about San Diego No. 1 ranking now after St. Augustine lost to Madison and the Dons clobbered Scripps Ranch 55-6.

8. (6) De La Salle (Concord) 5-1
Still hanging on to No. 1 in the north after 28-27 win over San Ramon Valley. Foothill (Pleasanton) beat SRV in OT earlier so it should be another nail-biter this week.

9. (NR) Serra (Gardena) 4-3
Only in-state loss is to No. 5 Narbonne and Cavs just hammered a Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) squad 38-7 that lost by a last-second field goal the week before to Bishop Amat.

10. (NR) Murrieta Valley (Murrieta) 4-2
Nighthawks are highest ranked in state in school history. Just beat Vista Murrieta 43-37 and only in-state loss to Rancho Cucamonga.
