Mission Viejo rises to No. 1, but it may be a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in Friday’s rescheduled Michelle Carew Classic contest against Orange Lutheran. One Top 20 team already has lost this week. This week’s only newcomer is Foothill of Pleasanton.

Note: There are not going to be separate free and premium posts for new rankings this season in any sport. All new and final rankings will be for Gold Club members only. 1. (2) MISSION VIEJO 17-2
All the complications involving that Mission Viejo-Los Alamitos halted game at the Michelle Carew Classic from two weeks ago are now out the door since Los Al dropped a game last week to Huntington Beach. Instead, the Diablos become an easy choice to move to No. 1 following two wins and will play Orange Lutheran (now No. 2 in the state this week) on Friday in the rescheduled Carew Classic. In a 9-2 win last week vs. Capistrano Valley of Mission Viejo, Terra McGowan homered whie Camryn Ybarra went 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored. The Diablos also won last week 12-0 vs. El Toro. Before playing the Lancers, they also have league games this week against Trabuco Hills of Mission Viejo and Dana Hills of Dana Point.
