TOP 10 STATE
BASEBALL TEAMS

1. (1) Buchanan (Clovis) 21-1
With almost everyone below taking a loss last week, Bears rolled on with two wins vs. Clovis East.

2. (4) Lutheran (Orange) 16-3
A 2-1 week vs. Servite is good enough to move up the Lancers. This also now matches most of SoCal consensus.

3. (2) Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) 18-1*
First loss last week to Los Alamitos. Not that much of a drop because others also lost.

4. (6) Bonita (La Verne) 19-2
Bearcats have a big game coming up Wednesday vs. South Hills.

5. (3) Davis 16-2
This ranking doesn’t include Monday game against Elk Grove.

6. (12) Clovis North (Fresno) 16-4-1
A two-game sweep of previous No. 5 Clovis gives the Broncos a major bump.

7. (8) De La Salle (Concord) 13-3
Wins over Amador Valley & Monte Vista helps the Spartans this week.

8. (9) Serra (San Mateo) 16-4-1
Padres’ big win of last week was against Bellarmine.

9. (10) JSerra (San Juan Capistrano) 16-6
Lions posted another 2-1 series win in tough league (this one vs. Mater Dei)

10. (5) Clovis 19-5
Team falls several spots but losses last week were to opponent now ranked higher.

TOP 10 STATE
SOFTBALL TEAMS

1. (2) Mission Viejo 17-2
Easy to move Diablos to No. 1 after Los Al lost last week to Huntington Beach.

2. (5) Lutheran (Orange) 20-3
Lancers got a big league win over previous No. 4 Mater Dei and will get shot at Mission Viejo on Friday.

3. (8) Huntington Beach 18-2
Loss to Edison was bad, but win over Los Al combined with overall record and possibility of winning Michelle Carew Classic title leads to jump.

4. (3) La Habra 20-1
Having head-to-head loss to Orange Lutheran became more significant after Lancers got that win over Mater Dei.

5. (1) Los Alamitos 17-2
Griffins can go back up if they get avenging win over Huntington Beach on May 10.

6. (6) Etiwanda 23-2
Couldn’t really drop Los Al any further than fifth so Eagles had to stay put despite a solid 2-0 week.

7. (4) Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 19-4
Still having one win over Mission Viejo keeps the Monarchs in front of Amador Valley.

8. (9) Amador Valley (Pleasanton) 13-2
Big game coming up Tuesday for Dons against 12-1 arch-rival Foothill.

9. (16) Grand Terrace 15-1
We don’t agree with high national rankings (at least not yet) for this team. Still a good week, though, to get them into Top 10.

10. (10) Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) 21-0-1
Wins over Thousand Oaks and Agoura keep the Lions unbeaten.
