Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five defensive linemen this season in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, according to CalHiSports.com.
Here is what that countdown revealed:
1. Chase Hatada (Rocklin) 6-3, 255, Sr.
Earned all-state underclass honors last year and committed to Boise State.
2. D.J. Johnson (Burbank, Sacramento) 6-5, 220, Jr.
One of state’s best juniors at his position and already with an offer from UCLA.
3. Phillip White Jr. (Bradshaw Christian, Sacramento) 6-4, 225, Sr.
He had 19 sacks last season and also can catch passes on offense.
4. Tevita Esau (Bear Creek, Stockton) 6-3, 305, Sr.
MVP lineman of the SJAA last season.
5. Lau Ta’amu (Elk Grove) 6-0, 265, Sr.
Gets clutch sacks and among team leaders on both sides of ball.
