This set of nominees, which is part of the first step toward selection of the 35th annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams, is for players from the CIF Central Section, CIF L.A. City Section and CIF San Diego Section. We are open to get additional nominees from parents, coaches and fans.

Note: Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football content that will be for Gold Club members include the second, updated and final set of all-state nominee lists, writeups for all players and lists of honorees below second team. The initial step toward selection of the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams is for us to present lists of nominees that have been put up on our virtual board.

This first nomination list was for players from CIF Northern California sections. This second one will combine players from the CIF Central Section, CIF L.A. City Section and CIF San Diego Section. We will then have a third post separately for the entire CIF Southern Section.

By no means are these meant to be all-inclusive lists of every possible all-state player in California. We encourage and welcome input from all users of our site and will be releasing a second, even more complete, updated list of nominees prior to when the teams are actually chosen and released.

Please send any nomination with each athlete’s height, weight, position, year in school, significant statistics. Comparing a player not on the board yet to one who already is can be very important toward eventual selection. Limit each nomination to one page please. Send to: markjtennis@gmail.com or FAX (209) 463-1219 or call (209) 463-9050.

The format we will continue to use is to honor a 30-player overall all-state first team with 30 more on second team. Each first team player is written up. There also are 30 for medium schools (Div. III traditional state rankings division) and 30 for small schools (Div. IV and Div. V traditional state rankings divisions). We often get enough information to include second teams for all divisions as well.

Don’t assume we know all there is to know about a player on the list, either. Send us info to make sure all pertinent information is turned in and placed into our files.

With special thanks to Stockton office assistant Paul Muyskens, here are the current nominations from the CIF Central Section, CIF L.A. City Section and CIF San Diego Section on our board for the various 2013 Cal-Hi Sports all-state football teams:

I’m pretty sure Austin Bernard of Valley Center did not play football this year…

Will check the list. Thought he was on it. If not, he’ll be considered regardless and added to second list.
