This is the first of several Cal-Hi Sports all-state football teams being announced over the next few days. Record-breaking Folsom quarterback leads the first unit for 10th graders and he’s joined by two teammates.

Note: The all-state honor teams for underclassmen (sophomores, juniors) are not intended as recruiting lists. We realize there are many talented younger players who will greatly improve in the coming months and may not have yet received the playing time needed to prove how good they are.

Since posting this list last night, we see that there was an omission from the first team and we have decided to add that player (without cutting out anyone else). The player is quarterback Ricky Town of St. Bonaventure.

There is a difference between an omission and not choosing someone. The omission is a case of a player that was intended to have been chosen but for various reasons (typo error, name just didn’t get onto the correct nomination list, etc.) that just did not happen. Not choosing someone is when a player is on the list of those being considered, had his credentials evaluated and was not picked in favor of a different player. We can still be wrong in those evaluations but that’s not the same as an omission.

Wheres Austin Cardoza from Exeter High School and Taivale Tautalatasi from Encinal high school???

    • Posted January 27, 2013 at 11:19 pm | Permalink

Didn’t get any info on Austin from any source from CIF Central Section. Tautalatasi wasn’t on any all-east bay teams that we saw, either.
Remember, this isn’t a prospect list.
